Naval Architecture & Yacht Design

Bristolian II

Built by Yachting Development, Bristolian II was launched in New Zealand in June 2008.

As current owner of Bristolian I, the client was specific the new design should be as high performance, responsive and as sensitive as the current model. A carbon composite boat with a lifting keel and modern hull lines was recommended. Below deck, the client requested a low, wide saloon with a raised panoramic dining area to the starboard side. The end result is an ingenious, original asymmetrical deck saloon. The deck lines, the owner specified “out of the box” lines, based on a voluminous and panoramic coach roof. The aim was to reflect the style of a 1950s Maserati. In order to facilitate the view of passengers the superstructure height was kept to a minimum. The deck was created with a large central volume.
